Amidst the custody battle between Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., aka DDG, and Halle Bailey, the rapper made a rare comment about having kids. On June 29, 2025, The Neighborhood Talk posted a video where Darryl discussed his future relationship predictions and said:

“If I am 29 or something like that and I ain’t got the time, I just go to that little place, do my little one two, put my sh*t in the cup, take a little eggs, somebody throw a little body, cook that m*th*r**ker for nine months, you know. You can do that type of machine when you got money.”

The video of DDG expressing his thoughts was recorded while he was riding in a car. It cannot be verified when or where the video was first posted, but it appears to have circulated multiple times on social media platforms.

As seen in another post by The Neighborhood Talk, entrepreneur Tokyo Toni commented on Darryl’s video shared by the page, writing:

“HIDE THE KNIFES”

In another comment, she wrote:

“FACTS”

Her third comment on the video was:

“MERMAIDS ARE EVIL”

Meanwhile, DDG had previously requested that the court not allow Bailey to take their son, Halo, to Italy for her film shoot. In his request, he wrote that his former partner had:

“Imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm.”

Halle Bailey now holds temporary custody of Halo. The couple parted ways in 2024 and decided to co-parent Halo.

What did DDG say about being celibate?

In May 2025, Darryl appeared on The Breakfast Club podcast, where Charlamagne Tha God asked him if he was a playboy. The rapper replied that he turned to celibacy. When Jess Hilarious asked how long he had been celibate, he replied:

“A little over six months.”

She asked why he was doing that, and DDG replied:

“Myself. I don’t have time. I don’t have time for women to catch feelings, you know. A lot of girls catch feelings for me. So, I try to stop that.”

Charlamagne Tha God asked DDG if he ever said things to make women develop feelings for him, to which Darryl responded that he didn’t, and he was being kind.

When asked whether fan opinions influenced his decisions, he explained that he usually avoided using content that fans didn’t like, except for one song called Speed, which grew on him over time. However, he valued their feedback since they were the ones listening.

When the conversation turned to how he avoided dull moments during long streams, DDG said it came naturally to him because he found himself entertaining.

He added that engaging with the live chat helped a lot, unlike pre-recorded videos or interviews, where there is no live interaction, streaming gave him real-time feedback and ideas, making it easier to stay energetic and avoid boring stretches.
