During an appearance on the April 2 episode of Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay podcast, Damon Wayans weighed on Kanye West's controversial Twitter and social media rants. Although Damon mentioned that he loves Kanye, Damon used the rhetoric of a "homeless person" to describe his recent behavior,

"I love Kanye, you know, and people are mad at him, you know, what he's doing is wild. But, you know, when you see a homeless person in the street and they're talking to themsleves, you can't be mad at them, something's wrong, they're sick."

Damon Wayans went on to note that Kanye's recent behavior indicates that something is "wrong" in the rapper's life,

"Kanye, something wrong with him, I don't listen to the homeless man yelling stuff and think, 'Oh, he means that.' He doesn't mean that. It's just coming out. Somebody needs to grab him; somebody who he loves and respects. Does he have that in his life? I don't know."

Shannon's comments on Kanye come after the rapper has been made multiple headlines recently for his controversial statements. On March 18, Kanye West took to X asking people if they had seen Beyonce and Jay-Z's younger kids, alleged that the couple used IVF to conceive the children and called them "re******."

In another X rant, he called his ex-wife Kim Kardashian a "S** trafficker" and alleged that the Kardashians are s** workers and "they s** traffic all the black children they strategically produce."

Damon Wayans says Kanye West needs to fall back on family for suppprt,

While noting Kanye West's recent antics and using the rhetoric of a "homeless person" to describe his recent behavior, Damon Wayans said that the rapper needs to fall back on the support of his family since something is going "wrong" in his life,

"Somebody, you know, you need an uncle. Right. Grab him. 'Hey, come here, boy, let me talk to you. You don't say that. You don't do that.' Somebody who he loves and respects. Right. Does he have that in his life? I don't know."

In the end, despite his opinions on Kanye, Damon Wayans noted that he appreciates his music,

"But I love Kanye. He's a musical genius."

West has also been under the radar for his consequent antisemitic comments. Earlier in February, West took to X to note that he's a "Nazi" and that he loves "Hitler." West was then sued and dropped by his talent agency.
