What calls did police receive about Rob Reiner's home before the killings? Welfare check and mental health incidents reported in 2019

Years before Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home, police had already been called to the residence over welfare-related concerns.

According to the records obtained by People, officers made multiple visits in 2019, adding historical context as their son, Nick, now faces murder charges.

The first call was made on Feb. 25, 2019, at 9:51 p.m., logged as a welfare check. Per the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were instructed to "go to" a woman upon arrival.

Authorities came to the Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner's residence at 10:12 p.m. They completed the call and notified the supervisor about the incident.

The second was on Sept. 27 that year at 4:24 p.m. as a mental health-related notification involving a male individual. However, upon arrival at 5:07 p.m., the police noted there was "no indication of mental illness."

The records also don't mention the name of the person who contacted the authorities.

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner's deaths: A quick timeline

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14.

The couple's son, Nick Reiner, was later arrested on suspicion of murder and was officially charged with two counts of first-degree murder of his parents on Dec. 16. He made his first court appearance the next day, dressed in shackles and an anti-suicide blue smock.

His first arraignment will take place on Jan. 7, 2026.

Meanwhile, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner's eldest and youngest, Jake and Romy, first broke their silence on the family tragedy on the 17th, writing in a joint statement:

"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends. We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life."

The siblings continued:

"We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave."

Days after their first statement, Jake and Romy released an update on Dec. 22 through a spokesperson, giving insight into how the siblings were handling the tragedy.

"Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received. They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date."
