On August 6, the X account “NBACentel” shared a post, writing that Dwight Howard was not permitted to attend the WNBA games. However, there is no truth to this claim as the handle that shared the post is a parody account.
This claim about Howard came through another parody account @SharmsCharania, whose bio reads:
“Follow for the latest fake NBA news!”
In 2020, Dwight Howard spoke to Shams Charania on HomeCourtBall about dealing with negativity. He said that when he faced negativity in life, like people lying about him or spreading rumors that weren’t true, he reminded himself that everything takes time.
He added that even if teams or managers said things that hurt, he chose to stay strong, keep working hard, and not let those words bring him down. He believed that if he stayed focused and kept going, the truth would come out eventually. According to him:
“That’s kind of like the hardest part because there’s been a lot of times I have been like, ‘Man, f*ck it. I am sick of this sh*t. I am sick of being lied on. I am tired of these people saying I am like this and I am not. I don’t work hard. I am a bad teammate, all the things that I am not.”
Dwight Howard said he understood that he had to go through tough times and follow the path ahead. He believed that everything was part of a bigger plan from God, and that soon the truth would be revealed.
He felt that the year 2020 was meant to help people see things more clearly and focus better. He looked forward to a time when everyone would understand what was really going on.
