TV personality Kelli Ferrell, known for her role in The Real Housewives of Atlanta, seems to have found herself in hot water. According to an exclusive report by Us Weekly, the Navy Federal Credit Union has initiated legal proceedings against Ferrell for unpaid credit card debt.
The outstanding balance that Ferrell was supposed to pay amounted to $26,434.86. Despite requests to repay the amount, the RHOA star failed to do so. In addition to the amount, the lawsuit also seeks attorney's fees.
Meanwhile, a representative for Kelli Ferrell told the media outlet:
“Kelli has not been served with any paperwork from Navy Federal Credit Union, which is an account that was shared with her now ex-husband. Due to her ex-husband currently being in the middle of bankruptcy proceedings, we cannot comment on this matter.”
Her former spouse, Chuvalo Mark Ferrell’s representative, explained that he was taken off all shared and business bank accounts, including those at Navy Federal Credit Union and Truist Bank, during their divorce in 2022.
They also said he didn’t know anything about any loans or money deals that Kelli Ferrell made after he was removed from those accounts. The representative added:
“The current legal dispute between Navy Federal Credit Union and Ms. Kelli A. Ferrell is strictly between those two parties. [Chuvalo] is not named in the lawsuit and has had no involvement in the matter.”
They went on:
“We find it deeply troubling that [Chuvalo’s] name continues to be invoked in matters to which he has no connection. This pattern of blame-shifting — three years post-separation and divorce — appears designed to divert public scrutiny from Ms. Ferrell’s financial difficulties.”
What did Kelli Ferrell’s restaurant’s landlord mention in a previous lawsuit?
This isn’t the first time Kelli Ferrell has found herself in such a situation. Earlier this year, her restaurant landlord brought a lawsuit against her for non-payment of debt. The star owns Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles restaurant, which is located in Sandy Springs. According to In Touch Weekly, the suit mentioned:
“Despite receipt of the Notices of Default, neither Nana’s nor Defendant has cured the Monetary Default or the Non-Monetary Defaults.”
It added:
“As of March 25, 2025, Nana’s remains in possession of the premises and the lease has not been terminated in any writing.”
According to her landlord, Ferrell made a breach of contract by failing to acquire the required permits. Besides, she also failed to clear her rent dues. A representative for Ferrell said:
“This is in regard to her second location, which is underway. Although Kelli’s divorce has been finalized, there is still a lot of gray area left, especially with finances.”
Kelli Ferrell’s spokesperson said the lawsuit about the unpaid rent had been taken care of. The spokesperson explained that problems from the divorce and the $160,000 Kelli had to pay her divorce lawyer caused some money troubles while she was trying to open the new restaurant.
They also said that Kelli was working things out with the landlords, and the restaurant would open by summer. The spokesperson added that Kelli Ferrell had been a successful businesswoman for over eight years, but the tough divorce caused some problems.
