Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood will be returning. The 2019 comedy-drama film is getting a sequel, but there is a twist. While Brad Pitt will be reprising his role, it won't be directed by Quentin Tarantino.

This time around, David Fincher is taking on the directorial responsibility. Netflix will be distributing the film. People who enjoyed the first film might be excited to watch Pitt come back as stuntman Cliff Booth, who is rumored to have killed his wife, Billie.

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood sequel to star Brad Pitt

Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood sequel will be directed by David Fincher. As per Variety, Fincher is doing the film as part of a first-look deal with Netflix. Brad Pitt is also returning from the first film as a stuntman, Cliff Booth.

Unlike the first film, the sequel will not be released in theaters but on a streaming platform. This news has dropped amid the news of Tarantino reportedly dropping his plans to direct his next film, The Movie Critic.

The forthcoming sequel will also mark a reunion of Pitt with Fincher after the 1995 crime thriller Seven, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The report suggests that the chances of Margot Robbie and Leonardo DiCaprio returning for the sequel are unlikely. Prior to the sequel, Fincher has done two films for Netflix: Mank and The Killer.

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. He also co-produced it with David Heyman and Shannon McIntosh. The film had its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and had its theatrical release on July 26, 2019. The storyline takes place in 1969 in Los Angeles and focuses on an actor who is fading into oblivion. We also see his stunt double as the two witness a transition in the industry into a new wave. The ending gives a different twist to the real-life Tate murders.
