Mark Hoppus and Melissa Joan Hart once went on a date that allegedly did not go well. The Blink-182 musician recently penned details of his dinner with the Sabrina The Teenage Witch star in the late 90s in his memoir Fahrenheit-182, released on April 8. While the actress has not yet reacted to the claims, here is everything Hoppus wrote about the date.
In the book, Hoppus mentions how he met Melissa Joan Hart at the Teen Choice Awards, and the latter "must've found me interesting because she had her publicist reach out to my label's publicist to give me her number." Calling it a "totally normal courtship," he added that they connected over a phone call and planned to have dinner together.
"I thought I was so slick using this Hollywood industry jargon, but I doubt it impressed her. I was newly famous but she had been famous for years."
According to the excerpt shared by Entertainment Weekly, they went to a sushi restaurant in the Valley. Hoppus wrote,
"It was an awful date. She was very nice, but we weren't connecting."
He added that everything in Hart's life "revolved around acting, and it was hard to relate to her about anything else." He continued,
"I'd ask what she liked to eat besides sushi and she'd say, 'Well, I'm usually eating whatever catering provides on set.'"
"I'd ask what she likes to read, and she'd say, 'Well, I'm usually reading scripts for work.' And I'm sure from her perspective, all I could talk about was music. We just weren't a great match. It was tough."
Hoppus further alleged that Melissa Joan Hart took him to her house after dinner and showed him around. He added,
"She had a beautiful place nearby with a view that overlooked the city."
Moreover, Hart also had a hot tub, and according to the bassist, she may have hinted that they should get in the tub.
"I told her I had an early set time and that I should probably get going," he told her.
Hart then dropped him back at his hotel. After returning to the hotel, he checked his messages and had a voicemail from his now-wife, Skye Everly, who asked him to give her a call. When he called her, their light-hearted chat soon turned into a deep and meaningful conversation.

Hoppus mentioned how he and Skye talked about "everything." They discussed where they grew up, their families, careers, and favorite albums. They talked on the phone the entire night. After getting together, the couple tied the knot in 2000. They also welcomed their son Jack Hoppus in 2002.
Melissa Joan Hart later got married to Mark Wilkerson
According to People Magazine, Melissa Joan Hart and musician Mark Wilkerson first met at the Kentucky Derby in 2002. Hart's younger sister has also claimed that the musician was immediately blown away after seeing the actress.
The same year, during the holiday season, Wilkerson popped the question to Melissa Joan Hart. The next year, in July, the couple tied the knot in Florence, Italy, and their ceremony was televised on the miniseries Tying The Knot.
The couple is now parents to their three children: Mason, Braydon, and Tucker.
