Amber Rose, who swore Beyonce "literally took her whole speech" because "she wanna be her so bad" during Kamala Harris' rally, has insisted she wasn't shading the global popstar and was simply poking fun instead. In speaking to some paparazzi over the weekend, the model, clad in a Halloween costume, said, according to TMZ:
"I was literally trolling. I troll my friends all the time. I did not think that was going to make national news when I posted that comment, but I love Beyonce, I know Beyonce and we've hung out many times, but I was low-key trolling."
Amber Rose says she "personally disagrees" with Beyonce
Queen Bey gave her speech in Houston on Friday night, and her mother, Tina Knowles, and Kelly Rowland were in attendance. When The Shade Room posted a clip of her address, Amber Rose took to the comments section to cite her grievances—which, now in hindsight, looks like it was just a joke.
The 41-year-old media personality says, "Even trolling isn't safe anymore ... cause even little jokes can blow up wide." She continued, noting that it was "crazy" that just "one comment can just become international news." Here's how Bey's speech went:
"We are so happy to be standing here on this stage as proud Texas women supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris."
She continued,
"I'm not here as a celebrity. I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we're not divided."
In her address, Beyonce proposed the possibility of a future for "our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations." The Halo singer pointed out that "we are at the precipice of an incredible shift, the brink of history."
Amber Rose, however, was referencing own address at the Republican National Convention in July with her cheeky comment:
"My whole world revolves around providing for my children, keeping them safe, and giving them an opportunity for a better life. That’s something that unites all American parents, whether we’re Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, or Liberals — we all want a better country for our children."
In speaking about the difference of opinion, though, the Trump-endorser said,
"They genuinely feel that Kamala might be best for the country. I personally disagree, but I think that it's the beautiful thing about living in America, we can have our own opinions."
While the comments may have been similar, the internet is unhappy and happy with the comparison. Many took to social media to diss Amber Rose for likening herself to Queen Bey, while others claimed there was no way Beyonce would ever want to be like her.
