Justin Bieber has been nabbing headlines these days for the wrong reasons. His posts have given off unsettling vibes across the board, with many social media users putting on their sleuthing hats to analyze what is actually going on with the Canadian pop sensation.

In the latest news concerning Bieber, fellow Canadian musician and “6 god” Drake seems to have been communicating via Bieber’s latest Instagram post. Interestingly, while Drake reportedly reached out to Justin, he has yet to hear back from the elusive superstar.

What Happened between Drake and Justin Bieber

In the Instagram post in question, Bieber uploaded a carousel of random images, but the caption was what really stood out. It seemed to be a call to action for Bieber’s past, present, and future collaborators to reach out to Justin to create something new.

“Dm me if u wanna make music together.”

Drake’s response was honest and to the point,

“I DM’d but no reply.”

It does not appear that there is any type of rift between the two, and we can likely chalk this up to a simple misunderstanding. Earlier in the year, on February 21, Bieber made headlines for unfollowing several top artists on Instagram, including Benny Blanco, The Weeknd, Diddy, and Diplo; Drake was also on the list.

While nothing is concrete as of now, it’s clear with both their audiences and musical chops, any type of joint effort would be universally welcomed by the masses. They have previously collaborated on "Right Here," which was released in 2013 as a single from Bieber's Believe album. Additionally, Bieber appeared in Drake and DJ Khaled’s “Popstar” video, although he did not have any vocals on the song.

The same post generated comments from several other big-name artists who were immediately open to cooking up something new with Justin. Big Sean, Jaden Smith, and Kehlani all responded in kind with some version of “check your DMs”.

Even Brazilian sensation Thiago Veigh chimed in, showing the international hype Bieber possesses regardless of his last release or what the media might be saying about his current state of mind.

Drake, on the other hand, is shaking off the remnants of last year’s feud with Kendrick Lamar and making his way back up to his spot at the forefront of genre-defining pop music. “Nokia” has climbed up to the seventh spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, and the video (which was shot entirely on IMAX cameras) is making waves as well.
