Gloria Estefan's husband, Emilio Estefan, who is 72 years old, is reportedly set to sue Manzaro Joseph, who has named Estefan in a lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs. According to US Weekly, Estefan is named in a lawsuit by the defendant, who alleged that he was taken to Diddy's home for the "freak offs" via a secret tunnel connecting Estefan and Combs' home in Star Island Community. The producer and his wife, Gloria Estefan, have both denied the accusations, with Emilio releasing a statement that read:
"We’re going to have to [file] a lawsuit against them because we work hard to develop a reputation for many years. We have a family, and it hurts the kids sometimes, what they hear. I hope people realize … people need to be more careful when they do something like that because it really hurts a lot of people. All of the fans, everything, [were] all very concerned. I was not concerned because it’s ridiculous.”
Gloria Estefan recently celebrated forty years of her 1985 hit song, "Conga," with a performance last week on Good Morning America. The Grammy winning singer also released a statement to TMZ on August 23, calling the accusations nothing more than "fantasy." She said:
"They’re going to have some explaining to do. I wasn’t worried about it. There was no relief needed. It’s just fantasy!”

Gloria Estefan also released a statement in connection with the case involving her husband where he has been named in the lawsuit against disgraced music mogul Sean Diddy Combs. The Estefans were previously neighbours with Diddy in the exclusive Star Island Community in Miami, before they sold their house to the "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" singer.
Gloria Estefan, born Gloria Maria Milagrossa Fajadaro Garcia, met her future husband Emilio Estefan in the mid 1970s before either of them achieved fame. According to People Magazine, the pair met in 1975 when Gloria Estefan was just seventeen years old, and Emilio was twenty two years. They met through mutual friends at a music session, shortly after Gloria graduated from high school.
In a 2017 interview with People Magazine, Gloria Estefan, who is sixty seven years talked about how she later saw Emilio at a wedding where he was playing, and that meeting eventually led them to form a band together. She said:
"Then my mom drags me to a wedding a few months later, and I walk in the door, and there [he is] playing 'The Hustle.' He tracked me down two weeks later."
The duo kept their relationship platonic at first, and chose to start playing in a wedding band together rather than strike up a romance.
"We had chemistry for sure. But he had an older girlfriend, and he was my boss"
The couple, who have a five year differance, began dating soon after and were in a relationship for three years before tying the knot in 1978. In an interview with WBUR, Gloria Estefan reflected on Emilio being her only boyfriend and said:
"Yes, he was my first and only boyfriend. I tell him he got a great deal, especially in the ‘70s, oh my God, the s*xual revolution. It was a crazy time. He changed my life, my destiny, my history, but it’s all been good.”
The couple welcomed their first son in 1980 and their second child, a daughter in 1994. In 1990, Gloria Estefan suffered a terrifying accident in a car crash that left her initially unable to walk. In a 2016 interview WBUR, she spoke about Emilio Estefan's unwavering commitment during her recovery, which finally convinced her mother about their relationship. She said:
"My mother, who tortured Emilio for 12 years until that accident happened and she realized that he really loved me for me and that he wasn’t going to run and cut and run and leave me there. But she was afraid, you know, musician dude comes here and takes my daughter away and is he the real deal? So she really – we took it easy on her in the play, let me put it that way.”
Since the 1990s, in addition to their succesful music careers, the couple have ventured into various businesses together, including opening a hotel and restaurant. In 2015, a play depicting the love story and careers of the couple premiered at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago.
Regarding the lawsuit naming Emilio Estefan, the couple have further added that it is not possible to construct a tunnel in the area due to the low water level. The accusations have also been denied by Diddy's lawyer as lies.
