Retired American track and field athlete Sanya Richards-Ross is now a mom of three as she welcomes her son with a post of a short video of her cradling him in a hospital bed, captioned “He’s here.”
The Olympian has not been shy about the pregnancy and her excitement over giving birth to her and her husband, Aaron Ross, third child. In a series of posts, she has talked about both how ecstatic she is and how much she is struggling as well, considering that at the time of birth, she also had an 18-month-old son.
She first shared the news in February through her 40th birthday Instagram post.
Richards-Ross captioned a series of pregnancy photos featuring her in a gold gown while Aaron was wearing a black suit,
“I knew this birthday would be special but this was A LOT more than I could have imagined.”
She added, "On this birthday and my 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY… @rossboy31 and I will be adding one more little prince or princess to our crew. 💙💕My birthday and anniversary is actually on the 26th but we’re celebrating today so let’s just pretend…. Haha.”
“Im about to me a Mommi of THREEEEEE AHHHHHHH!!!!” the caption concluded.
While on a June 24 post, she wrote,
“I am officially ONE WEEK away from experiencing the most beautiful thing a woman’s body can do and on this day, with my big ol’ belly, I felt beautiful, powerful, and strong. Can’t believe this journey is almost over and I get to meet my 3rd little prince for the first time.”
“Thank you for all the love, well wishes, and support especially all of you who acted like this was still my second pregnancy and I was pregnant for 60 weeks,” she exclaimed. “We haven’t picked a name yet, but I think this time I’ll look at him and know. Send a couple prayers up for your girl and I can’t wait to update you all with pics and videos as The Ross party of FIVE!!!”
Sanya Richards-Ross' Family
Sanya Richards-Ross, who made her claim to fame through the renowned reality hit show Real Housewives of Atlanta, which is a part of the Real Housewives franchise, married her husband, retired NFL player Aaron Ross, in 2010, and since then, they have built a beautiful family.
Besides her newborn son, the 40-year-old 2012 Olympic champion shares two other sons with her husband. The couple gave birth to Asani Ross in December 2023 and Aaron Jermaine Ross II, also known as "Deuce," who is now 7 years old, in 2017.
But as happy as she may seem, Sanya Richards-Ross has had struggles with her pregnancy in the past. Richards-Ross opened up about her miscarriage in a 2023 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, before giving birth to Asani.
"Everything was fine at my five-week checkup, but when I back to Dr. Jackie for my seven-week checkup, she told me that the baby wasn’t growing and it looked like it was no longer a viable pregnancy," she explained in a confessional.
"I was rushed off in an ambulance to the hospital. I lost so much blood that I had to get a blood transfusion," Sanya Richards-Ross revealed. "Especially not having Ross there, being by myself, it was really, really hard."
The couple, however, shares the excitement of welcoming a new little addition to their family.
