How long have JT and Lil Uzi Vert been together? Former City Girls rapper discusses her marriage plans

Former City Girls rapper Jatavia Shakara Johnson, aka JT, and Lil Uzi Vert have been together for almost six years, since they started dating in 2019. However, when it comes to tying the knot, they have plans, but not at the moment.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, published on July 21, Johnson was asked about her plans of getting hitched, to which she said:

“I’m not married yet, but we definitely are going to marry each other. That’s my best friend. That’s my dog. Uzi is such a cool person. We’ve been together since 2019, so we’ve been growing together. We just look at each other and are like, ‘Damn, we really cool. We really know each other. We really can exist and still like each other.’ It’s beyond love.”

She said Uzi Vert always wanted her to be around him almost all the time, despite them sharing the same living space. She felt it was because he liked spending time with her. When asked how their relationship started, JT explained that in October 2019, Lil Uzi Vert messaged her on Instagram, suggesting they collaborate on a song. At first, she wondered what he wanted from her, thinking he was out of her league because she had just come out of jail and didn’t feel her best.

However, she said they bonded instantly, and she would talk to him a lot while staying in a halfway house. She recalled having an amazing time with Lil Uzi Vert when they met, which she had never experienced before.

The interviewer asked how being with Lil Uzi Vert made her feel. JT said it felt like freedom, as she could do whatever she wanted. According to her, he kept an honest outlook towards her work. She added:

“He carries himself like a star. I really admire that about him because he will take so much from the outside world, and I’m always going to be the one to defend him because he’s not going to do it, he’s very older star in that way.”

She went on:

“He does not like me to argue on the internet, but I think he’s come to know that I’m going to do it anyway. And he just got to take me as who I am and love me for me.”

When asked about her dream proposal, JT said Lil Uzi Vert knew her well and would know what she liked. She didn’t want it to be messy or loud, with people crowding around video recording the day.

She wanted the day to come out elegant and simple, but she wouldn't put on loud makeup. However, according to her, the event need not be as big as the wedding but attractive.

JT also didn’t want it to be made into big gossip online or announced on blogs because the moment was meant to be private and special, not for everyone to judge.
