A TikTok has been in circulation claiming that Winona Ryder wanted less screen time with Priah Ferguson on Stranger Things. Ferguson stated that this was not true. She commented:
“This is not true! Winona is one of the kindest people I've met! It's really sad that people will edit an interview of me that has no correlation to what this caption says. Please leave Winona alone! I usually ignore stuff like this but I'm not going to let anyone come for Ms.Winona.”

Reports suggest the rumor began after Ferguson sat down for an interview about Stranger Things on FOX 11 Los Angeles in November 2025. Reflecting on the first audition in her career, Ferguson said it didn’t go the way she expected it. Commenting on Stranger Things coming to an end, she said:
“Bittersweet. It kind of feels like graduation in a way. The show is, you know, ending, but as the show, I feel like the show is ending at a really perfect time for me. So, I'm excited to step into my womanhood more and do other things. So, bittersweet, you know.”

Priah Ferguson said when she first read the script of the final season of Stranger Things, she felt a shock knowing that it was coming to an end. However, she was more interested in knowing what the fans felt about it. When asked what fans would think about her story, the actress said:
“I think fans might have questions on how Erica feels after all the craziness that has happened. I think they might wonder where is Erica's mindset and how she might move forward, you know, from all the craziness. So, questions, more questions. The next question she was asked was about Erica’s character development. She said Stranger Things fans might have seen that Erica was a polymath. Besides being a “sassy” little sister, she was also smart. According to Priah Ferguson:
“Erica says what people are thinking and she helps solve the problems. Her brain like helps put the pieces together in this crazy story line.”
Priah revealed that she kept a souvenir from the fifth season of the show. When asked about her favorite sibling moment between Erica and Lucas, she said:
“My favorite Erica and Lucas sibling moment maybe season 4 when Lucas was calling out for Erica. I think that kind of showed, you know, the sensitive side of the sibling, the brother and sister relationship a little bit.”
With Stranger Things coming to an end, Priah felt she was closing a chapter from her childhood. Despite that, she was excited to step into her womanhood.
