Mortal Kombat 2 is all set to introduce the defining battle in the ongoing saga between the Outworld and the Earthrealm.
This time, Johnny Cage arrives on the battlefield to help the warriors in the tenth face-off against the forces of the Outworld. The Californian fighter will be standing up against new threats, including Martyn Ford's formidable Shaon Kahn. So, it must be an exciting time to be a Mortal Kombat fan and waiting for this high-stakes martial arts adventure.
The sequel is scheduled to release on October 24. which means fans have to wait a few more months to see Johnny Cage kick and scream his way into this world. Considering all the craze for the original game, they must have strong opinions on how the characters should look or behave in the movie. So, the franchise producer, Todd Garner, addressed them in his recent conversation with FutureBoyWho2.
Garner also concluded the conversation on a hopeful note about the franchise's future. Here's what he said,
“We’re hoping that this is not the end of the franchise. There are plans going forward; other characters that aren't in this movie, characters that may come back… If we're allowed to do further movies - hopefully this one does well enough - there's chances to do other things, spin-offs, another sequel to propel the story.”
Todd Garner's comments offer hope for the franchise's development

With a returning and new cast, Mortal Kombat 2 is one of the most anticipated projects for martial arts fans. However, there were some detractors, too, who didn't like some of the casting choices. Some fans didn't think Karl Urban suited the Johnny Cage persona since he doesn't seem lore-appropriate, but others welcomed him with open arms.
Whether his appearance works or not will be realized once the film arrives in cinemas. However, the fan discussions make one thing clear: they have strong opinions about the characters. As a key producer behind the film franchise, Todd Garner understands their concerns. He discussed them in his discussion with FutureBoyWho2 and addressed what a future project can entail.
Garner seems hopeful about a potential sequel or spin-off projects, which might introduce new characters into the mix. It will be interesting to see how they take in the feedback from the fans and incorporate it into new movies.
