Ashley Tisdale doesn't seem to be bothered about the backlash she's been receiving since her personal essay was published on The Cut. The High School Musical star took to her official Instagram to post a video amid her public fallout to show her yoga prowess.
In the video, Ashley carefully transitioned from Warrior II pose to Reverse Warrior. She captioned the post:
“Find your strength within,” she wrote, tagging her brand. “Coming February 1st.”
Ashley Tisdale’s video comes days after her representative denied that the essay was referring to her friendship with fellow moms Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff and Meghan Trainor. The rep explained that Ashley’s words were twisted and that she was only trying to highlight some of the issues facing some mom circles.
More details on Ashley Tisdale’s personal essay
On January 1, Ashley Tisdale ushered her fans into the new year with a personal article on The Cut. The Frenshe founder discussed joining a mom group after the birth of her first child, and how she had to leave after the positive dynamic of the group quickly shifted.
“By the time we started getting together for playdates and got the group chat going, I was certain that I’d found my village. But over time, I began to wonder whether that was really true.”
Ashley Tisdale recalled feeling like she was in high school again after she was repeatedly left out of get-togethers.
“I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story. I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me.”
She continued:
“At first, I tried not to take things personally. It’s not like people aren’t allowed to get together without me—and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn’t been invited. We were all busy, life was hectic. I told myself it was all in my head and it wasn’t a big deal.”
Adding:
“Here I was sitting alone one night after getting my daughter to bed, thinking, ‘Maybe I’m not cool enough.’ All of a sudden, I was in high school again, feeling totally lost as to what I was doing ‘wrong’ to be left out.”
Ashley shared that she called them out for about their behavior before she exited the group. She revealed she wrote in the group, “This is too high school for me, and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”
Tisdale concluded the lenghty essay:
“Motherhood has enough challenges without having to wonder if the people around you are on your side. You deserve to go through motherhood with people who actually, you know, like you. And if you have to wonder if they do, here’s the hard-earned lesson I hope you’ll take to heart: It’s not the right group for you. Even if it looks like they’re having the best time on Instagram.”
