“He was a deranged person”: President Trump responds to criticism over his post slamming Rob Reiner following his death

President Donald Trump doubled down on his criticism of director Rob Reiner. The filmmaker and his wife were found dead on Sunday at their home. From Hollywood celebrities to political figures, many paid tribute to the veteran filmmaker. President Trump also shared a condolence post on Truth Social. However, he denounced the Reiner in his post.

In the Truth Social post, President Trump wrote that Reiner passed away due to the anger "he caused others." The President further wrote that the director was suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

The post went viral on the internet, and many called out the POTUS for not showing compassion to Reiner even after his death. On Monday, the President held a press conference. During the conversation, a journalist highlighted that many of his own party members slammed his post about Rob Reiner. The media person asked President Trump's thoughts on the criticism of his post. The POTUS made his stance clear and doubled down on his claims.

"Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned. He said he knew it was false; in fact, it's the exact opposite that I was a friend of Russia, controlled by Russia. You know the Russia hoax. He was one of the people behind it. I think he heard himself in career-wise. So he became like a deranged person. Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all. in any way shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country," he responded.

What did President Trump write about Rob Reiner in his Truth Social post?

Reiner was a vocal critic of Donald Trump and often bashed him over his policies. Following his demise, the President penned a post about him on his Truth Social. While praising his talent, he also blasted the slain filmmaker for opposing him.

"A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!" Trump posted.

Reiner recently slammed Donald Trump during his interview with Piers Morgan while discussing Kimmel's show's suspension. He called out the POTUS's alleged attempt to abuse federal agencies.

Rob Reiner and Michele's son, Nick Reiner, was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder. The matter is under investigation, and details have yet to come.
