Alex Pereira and Tracy Cortez have announced their breakup just one week after going public with their relationship. Pereira announced their breakup via an Instagram story post on January 9, 2026, stating in the post

"Thank you my fans for all the love. I would like to communicate with you guys that even though me and Tracy shared great moments together, we decided it would be better for the both of us to go our separate ways. I wish her nothing but the best in her journey."

Tracy Cortez has not made any public statements about her breakup with Pereira. As mentioned above, Pereira and Cortez started dating publicly at the start of the new year, announcing their relationship with new year's pictures of each other in matching sweaters, including one where they shared a kiss.

The announcement of their relationship publicly followed Cortez saying the week before that she would be spending her holidays in Brazil, including her first celebration of Christmas in the South American nation.

It is unclear what led to this quick breakup between the two. Alex Pereira has been married before and has two sons, Alessandro Vidal Silva and Lohan Vidal Silva. After his divorce, he was in a relationship with MMA content artist Merle Christine, with whom he broke up in 2023.

Tracy Cortez, meanwhile, was previously engaged to UFC fighter Brian Ortega. She and Ortega broke up in 2023. Brian Ortega was recently asked about Cortez and Pereira's relationship, to which he responded:

"I see you guys hitting me up trying to get a rise out of me (yall creative l give you that）Listen up I’m beyond happy and been happy. It ain’t my style to talk about others personal life and choices nor is it my business. My business is my family and my career 2026 and every year after will always be about them."

As mentioned above, Alex Pereira has previously been married. Not much is known about his first wife, aside from the fact that he shares two sons with her.

His relationship with Merle Christine and their breakup was much more public. As mentioned above, the two broke up in 2023, a couple of years after they started dating. Alex Pereira talked about his breakup during an appearance on the Full Send MMA podcast, stating:

"Well, it’s a little hard to talk about this, because for me, I already deleted this person from my life. I would also like to ask my fans to also delete her from your life. It was a person I believed (in). I put her in my house together with my family. After all, I found out that she was married."

Merle Christine has also talked about their breakup, saying in a public statement on her social media at the time:

“It seems like all these comments and rumors are not stopping, so I think it’s important to make a little statement. Sometimes in life, a relationship doesn’t work, and people decide to take two different ways. And I think it’s something everybody has to respect, and it doesn’t mean that there is bad blood between these two people…”

Alex Pereira's sons are also involved in sports, with Alessandro Vidal Silva previously stating publicly that he wants to become a UFC champion, while Lohan Vidal has been training under his father and recently fought Grayson Matton.
