The good news for Patrick Muldoon fans is that the door is always open for him at Days of our Lives. Right now, however, the door is a literal one! It turns out that the actor's recent social post showing him visiting the Burbank Studios, where DAYS tapes, was just that — a visit!

Patrick Muldoon's status with Days of our Lives

Soap Central reported that Muldoon's social media post (which can be seen above) meant that he was taping once again at DAYS. (He did say, "Feels good to be back.") Had he just started taping, or was an appearance on the show imminent? It turned out the answer was neither. Yes, Muldoon was back at the show, but, according to Soap Opera Digest, the actor is not reprising his role as Austin. He was just visiting the studio to show a friend his former place of work.

We're sure that Muldoon would make time for Days of our Lives if and when the show invites him back as Austin. However, for now, the actor/producer is plenty busy both acting in and producing movies.

Muldoon can be seen in five upcoming features in front of the screen. In The Corner, he's going to play Detective Cole. In Double Scoop, he is taking on the role of Everett. He's going to play Dr. Manchester in Second Chances. Muldoon is playing Richie Denton in Dirty Hands. And, in Stay at Home, he's going to be portraying the character of David.

Producing hat

Muldoon, who stays busy on the convention circuit courtesy of his role in the hit film Starship Troopers, is a hyphenate in Hollywood. In addition to acting, he's also a producer. Muldoon is producing The Dreadful, a thriller that tells the story of Anne (Sophie Turner, who starred as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones) and her mother-in-law Morwen (Marcia Gay Harden, an Oscar-winner for her role in Pollock), who live a rough, lonely life on the outskirts of society Conflict comes along when a man from Anne's past re-enters her life. Turner's Game of Thrones fellow cast member, Kit Harrington, plays the character of Jargo.

Alas, DAYS fans are going to have to put their hopes of seeing Muldoon back in Salem on hold for a while. However, it's apparent that the fan-favorite still has a large following who fondly recall his time as heroic Austin, the man who swept Carrie (Christie Clark) off her feet.
