At the hospital, Maggie anxiously asked Kayla what was taking so long. Kristin joined them and demanded an update. Kayla reminded Kristin that she wasn’t family. Maggie told Kristin there had been no improvement. Kristin said with that drug, you have to take the bull by the horns. Maggie told Kayla that if Kristin had gotten Sarah’s hopes up for nothing, she would “tear that Jezebel from limb to limb.”

In her hospital room, Sarah visited with Xander. They both hoped that she would be able to walk soon, but Sarah didn’t feel any different since taking the serum. Kristin marched in and tried to get Sarah on her feet.

Xander tried to stop Kristin, but she got in Sarah’s face and told her to challenge herself. “The serum works! You have to push yourself!” Kristin called out as Xander kicked her out of the room.

Xander and Sarah wondered when Kristin became someone who cared about anyone else, but Maggie didn’t think she had changed. Maggie suggested Kristin wanted to impress Brady. Sarah thought that Kristin’s idea to push herself might not be a bad one.

Xander asked Sarah if she was sure, and Sarah noted she was always fearless. Sarah asked Xander to help her. Kayla gave the okay, and she and Maggie watched as Xander helped Sarah to the edge of the bed and put her feet on the ground. Sarah tried to stand but couldn’t.

Brady saw Ava at the pub and offered to buy her a coffee. She snubbed him, so he asked if he had done something wrong. “No, but your jackass of a son certainly did,” Ava snapped.

Ava explained that Tate hurt and humiliated Sophia by calling her Holly while they were in bed. Brady said that Tate was a teenager and not completely self-aware. Ava thought Sophia’s heart was broken, so she felt bad for her. Brady admitted he’d been distracted about Sarah and should have been paying more attention to what was going on with Tate.

Brady told Ava that Sarah got the serum, and now they were waiting and hoping for the best. Ava apologized for coming in hot. She told Brady she was grateful for him and their friendship. Kristin walked in, saw them hugging, and asked what was going on.

Kristin told Brady that Sarah seemed down and out because the serum hadn’t worked yet. She insisted that Brady needed to encourage Sarah to have the right attitude and to try to walk. Ava told him he knew where to find her. Once alone, Kristin stopped Ava from leaving.

Kristin accused Ava of going after Brady. Ava told Kristin they were no longer friends but that she and Brady were. Ava noted that Kristin had seen nothing more than a friendly hug between her and Brady. Ava noted that she was upset about a friend with a broken heart, and Brady was comforting her. Kristin said that she understood but thought Ava couldn’t blame her for asking. “You call that asking? That was threatening,” Ava said.

Kristin said she was just doing her due diligence. Kristin reminded Ava that she and Brady shared a child, and now that she handed over the serum, it was only a matter of time before they found their way back to one another. “Not what I heard,” Ava said with a smirk.

Ava revealed that she had discussed Kristin with Brady, and he told her that he had never made Kristin any promises about reuniting. Ava said that friends confide in each other. “So, from one friend to another, I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you,” Ava said with a wink before walking out.

In the square, Holly and Tate enjoyed hanging out together. He was relieved they didn’t have to hide their relationship from their parents anymore. They were kissing when Sophia walked up behind them. “Wow, that certainly didn’t take long,” she noted.

Tate tried to explain that he didn’t mean to hurt her, but Sophia said she didn’t care. Sophia warned Holly that when she finally gave it up for Tate, not to be surprised if he called out Sophia’s name.

Aaron joined Sophia while she comforted herself with a big piece of cake. She told him that Tate and Holly were back together. Aaron was shocked when Sophia told him what happened with Tate.

Aaron shared with Sophia what was going on with him and his family. Sophia agreed that Aaron’s problems were much worse than hers and gave him her cake. “Did it help with your heartbreak?” Aaron asked. “Not even a little,” Sophia said.

Aaron said talking to Sophia helped him a lot, but he needed to study. Sophia suggested they go do something fun instead. “You want to hang out with me?” Aaron said. Sophia said they had something in common now, as both of their lives sucked. She suggested they go to her place and watch the new Body and Soul show.

At home, Holly said running into Sophia was awkward. Holly brought up what Sophia said. “That’s what I did to her,” Tate admitted. Holly asked how Sophia reacted when Tate called her the wrong name in bed. Tate described how Sophia freaked out and dumped him. Holly wondered if Tate only got back together with her because Sophia broke up with him.

Tate told Holly that she wasn’t his backup plan. He insisted that from their first moment in the park, she had been the only one he wanted to be with. Tate and Holly told each other they meant everything to one another. They kissed, and then Holly invited Tate up to her room.

Tate said he didn’t want to make any mistakes with her and wanted to do things right every step of the way. “So you’re okay with waiting?” Holly asked. Tate insisted he was and wanted their first time to be special. He told Holly he wanted to take her on a date and do “normal couple things.” “After we’ve done all that, we’ll see what happens,” Tate said. Holly agreed that sounded like a good plan. Tate and Holly tried to study but couldn’t concentrate. Tate put on music and asked her to dance.

In the hospital hallway, Xander slammed the coffee pot in frustration. Brady saw him and said Kristin had told him the serum hadn’t worked yet. Xander filled him in about Kristin bursting into the room and how she tried to force Sarah to her feet. He added that Sarah tried to walk, but it didn’t work. Brady said he was sorry for both of them. “No, Brady, I’m sorry,” Xander told him.

Xander apologized to Brady for wrongfully accusing him and noted how gracious Brady had been. Xander offered Brady his job back at Basic Black, and Brady accepted. Brady was surprised that Xander even considered Kristin’s deal to take Titan in exchange for the serum, but Xander said he would do anything for Sarah. Xander worried that the serum wouldn’t work, but Brady confidently told him that it would.

Alone in Sarah’s hospital room, Sarah confided to Maggie that she felt like she was letting Xander down. She noted that ever since he found out that his mom caused the accident, he’d carried so much guilt. Sarah worried that if she never walked again, Xander would never recover.

Sarah asked Maggie to check on Xander and make sure he was okay. Maggie said she would but wanted Sarah to rest. Sarah said she was hungry and asked Maggie to wheel over her food tray. Maggie did but tripped, and the water bottle slid off onto Sarah’s leg. Sarah gasped, but Maggie said it hadn’t spilled. “No, Mom…I felt that! I actually felt that when the water bottle hit my leg, I felt that!” Sarah told her.
