Jeremy surprised Stephanie, and he admitted that he knew some scenes in her book were about him. Jeremy talked about how he had taken responsibility for his past actions, and during therapy, he had discovered his love of teaching.

Stephanie told Kayla about her tense conversation with Jeremy. Stephanie said she intended to give Jeremy a chance to prove that he had changed, but Kayla cautioned Stephanie not to trust him. Steve asked Rafe to look into Jeremy Horton’s past.

After Jennifer interviewed Kayla and Steve about their history with Tom Horton, Jennifer admitted that she was at odds with Chad because of Cat. Kayla defended Cat’s efforts to make amends. Steve pointed out his own misdeeds because of Clyde. Kayla urged Jennifer to let go of her anger.

Cat reported to Rafe about her lunch with Gwen and the secure room at the clinic. During self-defense training, Cat was distracted by her phone. Cat admitted that she and Chad had decided to tell everyone that they were dating.

Chad told Thomas that he and Cat had decided to date. Angry, Thomas said he knew that Cat had pretended to be Abigail. Chad explained that the situation was complicated. Thomas yelled that Cat had turned Chad into a liar. As Jennifer walked in, Thomas ran into her arms. Thomas told Jennifer that Chad was dating Cat. After Thomas ran upstairs, Jennifer accused Chad of traumatizing Thomas. Chad broke up with Cat. Cat agreed that Chad needed to put his kids first. Chad asked Cat to remember how happy they had made one another.

Jennifer interviewed Julie about Tom. Jack flew into town. Jennifer reminisced with Jack and Julie about Jennifer’s arrival in Salem as a teen. Julie showed Jennifer some of Tom’s poetry. Theo and Ari met in the square. Over coffee, the two bonded about their mixed feelings for Salem.

JJ’s concern about what Theo had said to him the night of the blackout got the better of him. JJ attempted to turn in his badge. Jada determined that JJ had acted appropriately, and she returned his badge. Jada encouraged JJ to take a break and talk to a therapist. After therapy, JJ thought about the night he had attempted suicide. JJ went to see his family, and Jack told him how proud they were of him as a human and a cop.

Brady told Sarah that Tesoro’s DNA had not been a match for Tate. Sarah was surprised by the revelation. Tate continued to question Sophia until she snapped at him. Tate agreed never to ask about their daughter again.

Holly replaced the phone she had lost in the fire, and she was startled to learn that all her texts and photos were missing from the cloud. Johnny and Chanel questioned Holly about the sexy photo that Holly had sent him. Holly protested that she had no memory after her shower, but that her new phone did not have any photos or texts on it. When Johnny asked about the letter to the social worker, a confused Holly said she had not sent it. Ashamed, Holly decided to move to Paris.

Johnny and Chanel realized that the photos had been sent to his phone after the fire when Holly had been in the hospital. Rafe confirmed the photos had been sent from Horton town square. Rafe agreed to talk to social services about the evidence that Holly had not sent the pics. Johnny theorized that Sophia was to blame.

Sarah confronted Sophia about Tesoro. Confused, Sophia was adamant that Tesoro was her baby. Sarah told Sophia about the DNA test. Sophia realized that Tate was not the father of Tesoro. Sarah urged Sophia to tell the truth. Sophia asked Sarah to test her DNA so that she would know that Sophia’s baby was safe.

Johnny and Chanel told Brady about their theory that they had been set up. Brady guessed that Sophia was involved and that Tate might not be the father of Sophia’s baby. Brady took Sophia’s DNA to compare to baby Tesoro, but Sarah had to admit that she had already run the comparison. Sarah could only confirm that Tate was not Tesoro’s father. Brady pointed out that Sarah had not specified that Sophia was not the mother.

Ari said goodbye to Holly. While Holly lamented the loss of her phone photos, Ari offered to ask Sophia if she had seen the phone since she had stayed in their dorm that night. When Johnny and Chanel approached Holly to tell her that they believed she had been set up, they asked if anyone had had access to Holly’s phone. Holly pointed out that Sophia had been in her room the night of the fire.

Tate continued to mope about his breakup, and Aaron advised him to move on. When Ari returned Tate’s sweatshirt on Holly’s behalf, Ari admitted she had expected to see Sophia in his room. Tate stressed that he had only shared one kiss with Sophia. Ari explained that Sophia had implied that Tate had slept with Sophia. Tate was desperate to clarify to Holly that he had not slept with Sophia. Ari urged Tate to hurry since Holly was leaving for Paris.

Xander, Philip, and Maggie met with Tony. The Kiriakis family agreed to return DiMera, but they refused to give up Titan. The Kiriakis family said they would risk bankrupting the company to keep it in the family. Tony asked Xander why he was willing to risk his company for a family that had rejected him. Xander reminded Tony that Philip was his brother, and they were a united front. Privately, Xander and Philip talked about the beating. Xander thanked Philip for protecting him and saving his marriage.
