Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Dr. Marlena Evans is nice. She is the town shrink, everyone's best friend, the granny who can't cook, and a woman who tries not to tell it like it is unless she's in a really precarious situation (which happens a lot because this is Salem, after all. But sometimes, her veneer cracks. That's exactly what happened during her breakfast with old pal Susan, a woman who never, ever, ever shuts up. Even when Marlena is not nice, she is not nice in a nice way. For example, last week, she let EJ know exactly how she feels about him dating Belle, but she was nice about it. However, she certainly didn't want to hear Susan going on and on about her son's new relationship as if it were actually a good thing. That's when Marlena's seemingly impenetrable wall came down, and she let us know how she really felt about Susan and her habit of never not talking. When Marlena blurted out, "Oh, will you stop yammering?" we were as stopped in our tracks as Susan and EJ were. And Marlena. She was horrified with herself and quickly apologized, blaming her crankiness on a sleepless night worrying about John. All was well between Marlena and Susan by the time Marlena got news about John, and Susan had a bad premonition about that news, but sometimes nice characters are not-so-nice sometimes. And we welcome it.
