Days of our Lives icon Deidre Hall to play herself on Max series Hacks

The Days of our Lives legend will take on a familiar role when she makes an appearance on Hacks.

Deidre Hall has been bringing Marlena Evans to life on Days of our Lives since 1976 with a few brief breaks along the way. Now, Hall will be once again venturing out of Salem and into streaming television with an appearance on episode seven of the third season of the Max hit Hacks.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hall will play someone very familiar to her -- herself, or at least a fictional version. The fictional Hall will even be the mother of one of the show's main characters, Jimmy, as played by series creator Paul W. Downs.

"It made sense to us that Jimmy's late father, a big-time manager, would have been married to an actress," co-creator Lucia Aniello told EW. "When the idea for Deidre Hall came up, it just felt right."

She even gets to share scenes with Taxi and Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd, who plays a reclusive writer in the episode.

Hall is no stranger to playing herself, as she starred in a 1995 biopic TV movie chronicling her struggle to become a mother, which she finally did via surrogate in 1992 when her son David was born. Her son Tully followed three years later. The actress is also no stranger to primetime series, as she starred in the NBC family drama Our House from 1986 to 1988. Look for Hall's Hacks episode to air on May 23.
