Hot off his four-year stint on Days of our Lives, Freddie Smith (ex-Sonny Kiriakis) is already hard at work on his next project, a horror film that stars a couple of familiar Salemites.
Recent Days of our Lives alum Freddie Smith (ex-Sonny Kiriakis) may be missing out on the big murder mystery that just kicked off for the soap's 50th anniversary, but he'll be getting plenty of his own horror in the months to come. The actor just began shooting Hiker, a dark film that he not only wrote but also cast with Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie Jonas) and Spencer Neville (Derrick).
Having been in the making since 2012, Hiker follows a group of college students who go on a hike to film a new workout segment for YouTube celebrity Brett Fleischmann. The day takes a nasty turn when the group somehow ends up off the beaten path and is kidnapped by an odd family that lives deep in the woods. With no cell service and the sun starting to set, the friends have to fight for their lives -- or die.
The film, which also stars Barrett Shuler and Smith's real-life girlfriend, Alyssa Tabit (who also cowrote the project), is set for an October 30th release date.
