Welcome to The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Last week on The Bold and the Beautiful, we watched as Hope and Brooke had what was (for them) the ultimate showdown. Katie was as astounded as the rest of us when Brooke finally took her daughter to task and suggested the unthinkable: Hope should take some responsibility for her actions. But that was last week, and after Hope had sobbed some apologies for saying some rather rotten things and raising her hand to strike her mom in the face, it was all forgotten — so forgotten that by the next day, Hope was back to complaining that her life was upside down and it wasn’t fair. Brooke, less poignantly, pointed out that Hope had ruffled some feathers with that pesky coup attempt but suggested that she talk to Ridge on Hope’s behalf and, given some time, it would be all smoothed out. Who hit the rewind button? Wasn’t that what Brooke suggested the last time Hope had been fired? Regardless of where any of us stand on Hope’s firing, previous or current, what is Brooke doing? For once, she had insisted that Hope take some responsibility in her life, but now Hope is back singing the same old tune to a new audience, while Brooke is doing the same for Ridge. Considering it was the same topic of conversation that quickly turned into Ridge moving out, one would think that Brooke would lead with how sorry Hope is. But she’s not, and therefore, Brooke didn’t. The point that Brooke understood last week has been forgotten: Carter regretted his wrongs, but Hope thinks she was right, and, therefore, Hope is out of Forrester. Does Brooke really think some eyelash batting and cooing Ridge’s name is going to get her daughter back in the front door?
