There isn't a soap that has ever aired that doesn't repeat storylines, usually using different characters for similar scenarios, but The Bold and the Beautiful takes this phenomenon to new heights. And usually, these stories involve sexual escapades that make us want to rage and cringe. When Luna inevitably tricks a drunk Will into having sex with her by donning a mask so he would mistake her for Electra, we can't help thinking of another virgin whose boyfriend finally got what he wanted — from the wrong person wearing a mask. In the previous case, the virgin was Hope Logan, and her mother had sex with her boyfriend because Oliver was wearing the same mask as Ridge. Cringe then and cringe now. At least Will isn't about to have sex with Electra's mother, whoever she is. But he is about to have sex with the wrong person when he is way too drunk to even consent. Does B&B not see anything wrong here? The show is once again walking a fine line between a tawdry soap story and sexual assault that likely won't end up being played as such. When this happened with Hope and Brooke years ago, the story was cringeworthy enough and continues to be panned to this day. There was absolutely no reason to take this plot out of mothballs and do this again.
