This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, the Forresters, Logans, and Spencers are taking a long weekend and watching football. At least, some are. Others are plotting takeovers and hiring lawyers.

It took a bit for it to sink in for Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) that his best friend could possibly betray him. Even though Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) stood before him insisting her eavesdropping skills were on point, Ridge still defended Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and said there was no way that he would ever betray him.

However, that’s exactly what he did. However, since Carter is also the COO and company lawyer, Ridge is in a bind. Typically, it would have been Carter’s job to handle such a situation, so Ridge has to resort to other measures and find an experienced pro who knows what he’s doing. On Wednesday, Ridge calls in high-end attorney Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) to fix the mess that Carter has left.
In the past, Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) former right-hand man (and partner in crime) had done his own failed coup of Spencer Publications. After turning on his best friend and boss as well, Barber went to Ridge to make amends for pushing him out of a helicopter and wanted to work for Forrester to prove that he was a changed man.
No one knows corporations and coups like Justin. But has he really changed? Or does he see an opportunity to get back in Bill’s good graces instead?
Hopelessly crushed by betrayal
Hope (Annika Noelle) was on top of the world. She had a man who was solely focused on her for once and was willing to risk it all to defend her.
Carter put his entire career on the line for Hope for the Future, and for Hope herself. He even betrayed his best friend and carried through with his idea to take over Forrester Creations.
Hope and Carter have a fantastic day taking over a company, rehashing what they did, praising one another, and making love in front of the fire. What could go wrong?
Little did the new couple know that the entire time they were recounting their steps of deception, Brooke was outside the door listening to every word. Hope has depended on her mom’s support and secrecy. Brooke promised not to tell anyone about Hope and Carter’s romantic relationship, and Hope trusted that Brooke wouldn’t tell Ridge.
But when Brooke overheard what her daughter was really doing with Carter, she went straight to Ridge and told him everything.
On Wednesday, while Carter is confronted by Ridge, Brooke tells her daughter she knows what she has done. Hope spirals when Brooke comes to the cabin and shatters her world with the ultimate betrayal.
