Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful know Don Diamont well but in 1985, Don Diamont first appeared on The Young and the Restless as Brad Carlton. Devastated fans had to say goodbye when Brad was killed in 2009, but by May of that year, Diamont reappeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in the glorious new role of "Dollar" Bill Spencer, Jr. This week, CBS is honoring Diamont for his 40-year tenure, and his costars and friends marked the occasion with a special video.

Don made his move to B&B but kept his friendships with his Y&R family, as well. In a tribute video filmed backstage on the CBS lot, actor Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott, Y&R) began by quipping that Don Diamont was 45 years old and yet had been at CBS for 40 years. “It doesn’t add up. Something’s off,” Bergman deadpanned to the camera. Bergman had many scenes with Diamont on Y&R, and did crossover scenes with him as Bill Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful as well.

On the Y&R set, Beth Maitland chimed in with the same tone. “Don Diamont, 40 years? It’s impossible. How could you start when you were two?” she laughed. “I love you so much! Congratulations on this amazing…amazing…landmark date.” Maitland added that there was no one in the hall or with whom she started her early career that she loved more than Don. “I couldn’t be happier that you made this huge contribution to daytime, to our community, and mostly, to me,” she added.

Eileen Davidson, who is Ashley Abbott on both Y&R and B&B, was next to tribute Diamont’s 40 years. “What a huge accomplishment!” she gushed before raising her eyebrow and adding, “My god, you’re old.” She told him she loved him as she smirked.

Tracey Bregman, who plays Lauren Fenmore on Y&R and also crosses over to The Bold and the Beautiful, congratulated Diamont on his milestone. “You and I go way back — 7th grade, even though you don’t remember me,” she said with a smile, adding, “It’s always been great to know you, to work with you, and to be friends, so you know I love you, sweetheart.”

Joshua Morrow and Don Diamont have a fun friendship with similar senses of humor. That extends to Joshua’s son, Crew, who plays Don’s on-screen son, Will Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful. The three are known for the pranks they pull on one another. Joshua congratulated his friend on his “stunning achievement” and told him, “You make daytime a lot more handsome, a lot more funny, and infinitely — infinitely — cooler. So thank you for being you. All of daytime appreciates you, brother, and I’m very proud of you.”

Eric Braeden, the great Victor Newman, told Diamont that he knew he had a good heart and that was a quality he appreciated in a person, and didn’t think that a lot of people knew what a good man he was. “So another 40 years…and then you and I can walk in on crutches,” he joked.
