New gig for B&B's Anthony Turpel

Disney+ has cast The Bold and the Beautiful alum Anthony Turpel (ex-R.J. Forrester) in its new series Love, Simon, inspired by the 2018 film of the same name.

Congratulations are in order for The Bold and the Beautiful's Anthony Turpel (ex-R.J. Forrester), who has landed a role in the new Disney+ series Love, Simon.

The actor will be playing the role of an awkward, lanky new neighbor named Felix in the show, which was inspired by the 2018 film of the same name and follows Victor (Michael Cimino), a new student at Creekwood High School, who's on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.

"I can finally say that I am incredibly lucky to be a part of an awesome cast and crew to bring Love, Simon the TV show on Disney plus!" Turpel enthuses on Instagram. "Make sure to check it out you will love it!"

According to Deadline, other cast members of Love, Simon will include Ana Ortiz as Victor's smart and warm mother Isabel, who loves her husband and her family but is under a lot of pressure as they move their family across the country; James Martinez as Armando, Victor's regular blue collar "guy's guy" father who loves his family deeply and works hard for his family; Isabella Ferreira as Pilar, Victor's sullen younger sister in the throes of teenage angst; Mateo Fernandez as Adrian, Victor's adorable, good-natured little brother; Johnny Sequoyah as Mia, Victor's whip-smart friend with a quick wit and easy laugh; Bebe Wood as Mia's quirky and social media-obsessed best friend, Lake; George Sear as Benji, Victor's confident and charming classmate; and Mason Gooding as Andrew, Creekwood's cocky and popular basketball-loving jock. Nick Robinson, who starred in the original Love, Simon film, will produce and narrate the series.

Love, Simon is based on Becky Albertali's New York Times bestselling novel of the same name and hails from 20th Century Fox TV, part of Disney TV Studios, and This Is Us executive producers/co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who wrote the movie.

Turpel joined B&B as a SORASed recast of R.J. in 2016 and played the role until 2018. His other post-daytime credits include 9-1-1 and No Good Nick, the latter of which he still stars on in a recurring capacity.
