No Rick, no Maya? B&B's Jacob Young says popular couple is totally out

The Bold and the Beautiful's Jacob Young (Rick Forrester) handled being dropped to recurring status with grace, but Rick's outright disappearance from the canvas is another story -- especially now that it seems Karla Mosley's Maya is facing the same fate.

When The Bold and the Beautiful's Jacob Young (Rick Forrester) was dropped to recurring status earlier this spring, he took the CBS soap's decision in stride and shared a very graceful message with fans. "I have been under contract for 21 years and this to me is a blessing," he wrote at the time. "I can now have the time to pursue all my passions."

His fans, however, have been extremely vocal about Rick's disappearance and have been tweeting and campaigning to get the actor back on their television screens since news of his new status broke in April. Those upset feelings escalated last week, however, when it became clear that the powers that be chose not to include Rick in an important family moment currently playing out on-screen: Hope's (Annika Noelle) wedding.

Frustrated fans sent an onslaught of social media messages about the oversight, and Young himself was even moved to weigh in on what many viewers consider to be a huge mistake. He retweeted B&B's wedding teaser with the caption: "Do you think Rick should have been there for his baby sister's wedding?? Perhaps just to say, 'I love you and congrats?' What [are] your thoughts?"

Viewers quickly began commenting on Young's post, with one writing that hopefully Rick will at least return for the holidays. Unfortunately, the actor isn't confident Rick will be around for any Christmas cheer.

"It [does] not seem that's in the cards," he answered.

Of course, all the fuss over Young's lack of screen time has translated into questions about Karla Mosley's status with the CBS soap, as well. After all, her character, Maya, is Rick's wife -- and her screen time also started to dwindle when Young was bumped down to recurring status.

"I'm afraid Maya is going to disappear next," wrote a downcast fan under Young's tweet, to which he responded: "Your presumptions are correct."

Neither Mosley nor the show has commented on her official status, but the fact that Maya has only appeared in a handful of episodes this year is enough to make viewers suspect that perhaps she truly is facing the same fate as Young. Then again, her lack of recent screen time may be tied to the fact that the actress just gave birth to her first child.

Since being dropped to recurring status, Young has kept himself quite busy with a variety projects including working on a new album, launching a summer music tour, producing a new film, and filming a movie opposite his former All My Children costar Alexa Havins.

How do you feel about B&B not including Rick in Hope's wedding storyline? Do you wish the powers that be would bring Rick to the screen more often? If so, what kind of story would you like for the character?
