B&B's Jacob Young to tackle "super bad" character in new film

The Bold and the Beautiful's Jacob Young (Rick Forrester) gives a tease from his latest project, in which he'll be taking on what sounds to be a major miscreant.

Jacob Young already knows how good it is to be bad, having played both The Bold and the Beautiful's Rick Forrester and All My Children's J.R. Chandler -- two characters whose morality was questionable on the best of days. But from the sound of it, his latest project will have him tapping into his dark side to an even greater extent.

The actor, who currently has more time for outside projects now that he's only on a recurring basis at B&B, took to social media to share that he has landed a new role that he describes as a "super bad dude."

"Getting ready to play a super bad dude in a killer new film," he writes along with the hashtags Mr. Jones and Angel.

The photo he shares along with the tease is a refreshing change for fans of the actor, who are used to seeing him wear a suit in almost every scene on the CBS soap.

Though Young teases that he'll playing a super bad dude, fans shouldn't immediately assume his character will be unredeemable. After all, he recently told Variety that one of the reasons he wanted to step back from daytime is because he believes the genre can be quite limiting in terms of characters' values.

"You want to be able to develop characters with a deeper meaning -- a deeper sense --and you know, I'm just not quite getting that," he says. "In the daytime market you're pretty much limited to a good guy or a bad guy -- not too much in between with the content -- and I was looking to explore projects with more meaning to me personally."

Additional details about Young's project remain scarce, but he does share that filming begins June 19 in Los Angeles.

Since switching to recurring status at B&B earlier this year, Young has kept himself quite busy. Not only has the actor-turned-musician embarked on a summer music tour with Mark Anthony Castrillion that brings his country tunes to fans across the nation, but he also recently filmed a project opposite his former on-screen AMC love interest Alexa Havins (ex-Babe Carey) and is in the process of developing a Jerry Lewis project.
