President Barack Obama has named B&B producer Colleen Bell as the new ambassador to Hungary. Bell is also the wife of The Bold and the Beautiful's executive producer/head writer Bradley Bell.
Colleen Bell, a producer at The Bold and the Beautiful and wife of executive producer/head writer Bradley Bell, has been named the new U.S. ambassador to Hungary. The White House made the announcement on November 6.
"I am grateful these accomplished individuals have agreed to join this Administration, and I'm confident they will serve ably in these important roles," President Barack Obama said in a statement announcing the administration's latest appointments.
Bell has been politically active for some time. In 2012, Bell was selected as a California Delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Bell was also a member of the National Finance Committee for Obama's reelection campaign.
In addition to her soap work and political activities, Bell is also a member of the board of trustees at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
In case you were wondering, The Bold and the Beautiful does air in Hungary, a country with a population of just under ten million people.
The nation's most recent ambassador to Hungary, Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis, served from January 2010 to July 2013. Bell's nomination will now go to the Senate for approval.
